Counseling, also referred to as talk therapy,  is an opportunity to help identify and cope with difficult life circumstances or emotions.

Research shows that counseling can provide significant reduction in feelings of distress and improved relationships.

Counseling can address and help reduce symptoms of Depression, Anxiety and Trauma.  Using a variety of  techniques, Counselors will use a therapy which best fits a clients characteristics and preferences. Some common types of therapy are cognitive, behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic or a combination of therapy styles. Therapy can be for an individual, couples, family or other group.

A Counselor's office provides a safe, confidential environment for exploring personal issues in such areas as trust, intimacy, anger, or assertiveness.

Counselors can assist with Wellness Counseling ( WC ) which is also sometimes referred to as Life Coaching.

If Counseling is about "uncovering", Wellness is about "discovering", and clients work on their goals for the future and create a new life path. With WC, there is less time examining the past.

WC can help with personal  goals and professional potential. WC provides support to enhance the skills, resources and creativity that the client already has.

Wellness Coaching is designed to:  Define goals;  Formulate a plan ; Assist with accountability and progress; Provide structure, encouragement and support and resources.
